Feelin very listy..

It must be the whole end of the year thing.
I think we all know what's coming..
A list of my favorite albums of the year.
Last weekish I was talking with Chris, and I realized I only had boughten about 10 albums from a store.. Most music I downloaded Illegally, or from iTunes, I hate iTunes.. This year I really only downloaded specific songs, and not really albums. I bought 16 albums at most, if you include album purchases from iTunes. I'm short on cash. haha. Ok, that wasn't important to say.. Half of the albums I DID buy this year, didn't even come out this year, so I'm gonna pull a Hoopes and just do my favorite albums that I've gotten in 2007. A bunch of albums I did buy weren't even that great, I might add a few at the end of the blog. Along with albums I wish I had. Eh, ok?

Top ten albums of 2007
According to.. me.

Ok, so Brand News cd, I actually got it in 2006, a week before Christmas. But I didn't make a list last year, and I needed to put that album on some list.. :/

I'm Like A Virgin Losing A Child came out in December or November last year, but I didn't get it until this year, so it's gonna be up here, too.

I also didn't get Over It's cd until this year..

a few cds I wanted to put on the list but had no room for:

Dashboard Confessional - Shade Of Poison Trees
Ruth - Secondhand Dreaming
Bright Eyes - Cassadaga
Sherwood - A Different Light

Some cds that I regret buying this year when I could've gotten something else are:

Silver Chair - Young Modern
Norma Jean - Redeemer (it ain't for me, man.)
The Academy Is... - Santi

cds that I wish I had money to buy this year:

Say Anything - In Defense Of The Genre
Mae - Singularity
Jimmy Eat World - Chase This Light
Eisley - Combinations
Minus The Bear - Planet Of Ice
The Dear Hunter - Act II: The Meaning Of, And All Things Regarding Ms. Leading
tons of others, too..

I want the Manchester Orchestra cd, and I haven't bought Dashboard's cd, either, though I love Stolen. I'll have to give it a listen on Rhapsody.

I love Over It's cd.. definitely not new, though.

Gotta agree with Combinations. Now Eisley has a downloadable ep on iTunes called "Like the Actors". It's good.

And Brighten's cd is pretty good as well. I haven't listened to Wesley's cd all the way through yet. Yes, I know I'm bad Martine. LOL I've been really loving Jon Foreman's Fall ep a LOT!! And the bootlegs from the show, so they've taken up lots or recent listening time.

Singularity is on my favorites. So is A Different Light. Jimmy Eat World's cd is good, but I've only listened once since I haven't had it long.

If you have $6.99 a month, check out yourmusic.com. You make a list and you get a cd from the top of your list once a month (no shipping.) Mostly they have cd's that are more than 6 mos. old, but it's a good deal if it's something you can do.

I want the new Radiohead album - In Rainbows. I hate iTunes too. The album is $2 cheaper at my local Budget Tapes and Records than on itunes and that's not even used.

Downloading illegally is fine with me though...my computer just won't load the program right now for some reason and it really kinda pisses me off. I don't know why artists always complain about it so much. It's not like everyone is trying to cheat them, some of us are just poor or want to hear the whole album before purchasing it. It's like only rich people are aloud to even listen to music now, like music is only intended to be for the elite or select or something and that's just completely bogus to me. If I were a musician I'd be happy if people just wanted to hear and try to get my music by anyway possible. Music should be about touching as many lives as possible, not money. If you do that...well then the money just comes, call me idealistic...

but, that's just my opinion. :)

probably the most delayed comment there has ever been and i doubt that this will ever be looked at but if you are reading this i have to say you easily have some of the best taste in music out of anyone i have never met.
i was looking for some recommendeds and i fell upon this work of art of a list and i must say ive jumped back into ordering cds after listening to all this.
over the past three months ive ordered over 60 cds and i just broke 11,000 songs on my itunes. and this list inspired my movement of music. i started play guitar as well. again. then stopped. i like to pretend i play sometimes.
although i cant agree with all of your music. i have to say most of it is great.
especially minus the bear. ive never met anyone who actually knows who they are. and to those i recommend them to they say they like eitehr knights or ice monster and the rest of cd is trash.
i dont think so
if you liek this kind of music i highly recommend
"fiction plane" - cigarettes and hate
"kevin divine" - no time flat
"lola ray" - were not having any fun
"southFM" - dear claudia
and most certainly "IDAHO" the cd leviate (youll liek them if youre a fan of as tall as lions, very similar. (if you dont know atal look them up as well))
and one more before this list gets too long
"between the trees"
and one morrrre
theyve recently become more well known i liked them when people had no clue who they were
"circa survive" (im positive you know of them)

again thank you so much for sitting on your ass and inspiring me. good music hunting
-Manny
