Don't you come near me

I had to read an essay called "Behind The Formaldehyde Curtain" for my english class, and it made me come to a certain conclusion...

When I die, I either want to be cremated,
or go straight to my bloody coffin the moment I'm dead.
no Embalming for me, thank you..

So if I die anytime in the near future, before I have a will written out..
make sure whoever it is who's dealing with my death and burial, knows that I don't want those damn people who 'makeover the dead' anywhere near me.

The essay is pretty good.
I was amazed that it was a woman who wrote it. haha.

*Edit:

I forgot to add that it's illegal in the U.S. to not be embalmed, unless you are cremated within I believe it was 48 hours of dying.. Meaning I have to die out of the country.. Or be burned to ashes a day after dying. :D

LOL... I suppose reading about it might make one feel that way. Would love to have a discussion with you on grieving, etc. sometime that might tie into why this is sometimes done. Is the essay available online? I'd love to read it. You know, I don't really care so much what they do to my body after I'm actually dead. The important thing will be what's best for those who remain.

Actually, it's only illegal to have the body still hanging out like around the house or something. You can refrigerate it no problem. I'm going to do a green burial where you are refrigerated, then buried in a plain wood box or just a shroud, then given a simple marker or maybe a special tree. Perfect. http://www.greenburials.org

(I saw your comments off Isaac Marion's page, so I came over to read your blog.)
